Candidates Sought for Vacancy on Community Advisory Group

The San Jose/Santa Clara Water Pollution Control Plant (Plant) cleans wastewater from homes and businesses in San José, Santa Clara, Milpitas, Cupertino, Campbell, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, and Saratoga. Now more than 50 years old, the Plant needs repair and rehabilitation. The Plant Master Plan is a three-year process for planning the Plant's future and the Community Advisory Group (CAG) provides a community perspective on the process.

Now mid-way through the process, one at-large vacancy needs to be filled. Your participation will help shape one of the largest public works efforts in the history of the South Bay - comparable in scale to expanding the San Jose Mineta Airport.

As a CAG member, give input on:
  • Improving the largest advanced wastewater treatment facility on the West Coast
  • Incorporating new treatment technologies to create a sustainable, cost-effective, and energy efficient facility
  • Planning new land uses for the 2,600-acre Plant site, that could include recreation, retail, habitat, and more
  • Ensuring the Plant continues to protect our region's health, environment, and economy

CAG members are expected to attend monthly meetings, review project information, and provide feedback on aspects of the Plant Master Plan. See the application for criteria and responsibilities.
